In 1924,
the League of Nations decided that June 1 will be remembered as International
Children’s Day. It is a special day designated as a reminder for the world to
address problems that have direct or indirect effects to the welfare and
well-being of children worldwide.
International
Children’s Day was officially adopted in 1950 and is celebrated on June 1. It
is a message for child protection and
improving the lives of children. Some It is based on the spirit of the Convention on the
Rights of the Child which was adopted in 1989.
International
Children’s Day is devoted to activities that promote and raise awareness of
issues that affect children, such as child sex tourism, poverty, and education.
Every country is allowed freedom to organize events, and usually, governments
work together with organizations that specialize in fulfilling children’s needs
and overcoming problems.
