Kutaisoba- city day with chamomiles.

Gviriloba – an annual festival celebrating the vibrant history and cultural diversity of Kutaisi.
Gviriloba comes for the Georgian word for chamomile (‘gvirila’ in Georgian) and the traditional celebration stems from the 19th century when Kutaisi schoolgirls used to sell chamomiles for charity. They used to donate the raised money to help those with tuberculosis.

Talk Like Shakespeare Day

National Talk Like Shakespeare Day is observed annually on April 23.  Born April 23, 1564, William Shakespeare is the author of some of the world’s most celebrated plays and poems.  In 2016, we honored the 400th anniversary of the Bard’s death. What better way to celebrate his life and art than to speak like poet and playwright.  Talk Like Shakespeare Day is a holiday to use words that William Shakespeare commonly used in his plays and sonnets. If you’re not sure what to say you can start with adding words like thee and thou into your vocabulary. You can also look up words and phrases that were invented by Shakespeare (many of which we still use) and say those. This holiday is celebrated on Shakespeare’s birthday, which is also an official holiday in the United Kingdom.
